BIOGRAPHY

Courtland is one of the premiere vocalists in Minneapolis, MN. He possesses an amazing gift: singing, but what sets him apart is that singing is not a hobby, it is his purpose. Courtland established his vocal status in 2005, after joining his church's Praise and Worship Team. Since that time, Courtland has written music for several gospel recording artists and “How Sweet the Sound” contestant “Jamar Esaw & Triad For Christ”. Additionally, he was one of the lead vocalists of the Dove and Stellar Award Nominated Gospel Group, "Darnell Davis & The Remnant". While singing with this group, Courtland has been featured on a National Television Show “Bobby Jones Gospel”, as well as traveling around the country sharing his gift with the nation. Courtland has been featured with musicians across a variety of genres and has participated in events including singing at the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World National Convention (2010) and “The Sonshine Festival” (2010). These events drew crowds in the thousands.

In 2015, Courtland decided to step out and do some concerts with a good friend, Lawrence Miles. The two became a dynamic duo that has warmed the hearts of many with their smooth vocal abilities. When you combine Courtland's deep velvet tone with Lawrence's strong piercing tenor register, you experience magic! Their passion is to use their gift of music to uplift and inspire everyone to live their best life today. With multiple sold-out shows in their short collaboration, they’re doing just that!

In 2016, Courtland auditioned for The Voice, a nationally televised vocal competition. He placed within the top 150 contestants out of over 10,000 individuals who auditioned.

The Manifested Promise, an EP that was released in June of 2017, was birthed from the scripture Hebrews 6:15, “And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” This EP is an introduction to his journey to obtaining the promise. The Manifested Promise EP is available on all digital platforms.

“It is very important to me that we train the next generation of singers & songwriters. Music can be very uplifting, a stress reliever, can bring peace, and also bring a community together! Gospel music heals, and it is my hope that through my music, our community can be healed.I hope to empower youth to follow their dreams by teaching them how to find their voice.” - Courtland Pickens
